The heart increases in size and an enlarged heart is more common as we age. ACE inhibitors (losartan), angiotensin receptor blockers (losartan), statins, metformin, eplerenone, and SGLT2 inhibitors (Jardiance) reduce heart size by the mechanisms shown in the diagram.
