The root cause of ALL these is the lack of good diagnostic tools in the hands of cardiologists, even though they think they do, badly misdiagnosing people with metabolic heart disease, or the dreaded "Syndrome X", microvascular disease, especially for women, This is why we exist, frankly. This is you Neighbor Lady Jean and YOUR story,

Yes! That is my story. I'll never forget reading the article describing the WISE study and realizing that I was one of those women. I quickly responded saying I think you're talking about me in this article. I have been to the ER three times now with chest pain. All three times I was discharged with really no explanation for my pain. I was told that it may have been esophageal spasms or GERD. Even when I failed a Nuclear Stress Test and ended up in the cath lab. I was told my arteries were wide open. I've had two normal ECHO's as well. Things just were not adding up. I knew I wasn't crazy. So after talking with my neighbor, Dr. Bestermann the ball got rolling. Dr. Shen stepped in and set us both up for the MCG test. I was amazed how easy it was to have it done. Dr. Shen sent his assistants to do the test in the living room of my neighbors home. Within 30 mins Dr. Shen called us with the results. I was shocked that I scored so poorly. It was exactly what I needed to hear. I knew I needed to make some changes in my life and it started that day last January. Since then I have started walking up to 4 miles several times a week. I am doing intermittent fasting only eating twice a day and have lost a total of 23 pounds. I am looking forward to being tested again to see if they are improvements in my coronary artery health. Thanks Dr. Shen and Dr. Bestermann!
