This podcast from Dr. Peter Attia is a great resource. He is discussing rapamycin as with two of the leading authorities on the molecule. Dr. David Sabatini discovered how rapamycin works to slow aging and delay chronic illness by inhibiting the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR). He is the leading authority on the basic science of mTOR and rapamycin.
I will discuss this in my next post. Rapamycin inhibits a critical master metabolic epigenetic switch involved in chronic disease promotion and more rapid aging called the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR). Metformin directly inhibits that same switch and that is the reason for its benefits that extent far beyond lowering glucose and insulin resistance.
Hello Dr Bestermann,
are there still medicines on the US market?
In Europe, there are only tests underway
Thanks
I know there are people in this country who are taking it. I am not sure how they get it but I think it is discussed on the podcast.
https://youtu.be/juBM2UJkMJY?si=WMWLUNw4ynVTfmOH this is the link to rapamycin compared/ contrasted to metformin. Seems like it is the next " thing".
