Early aggressive treatment of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes to low sugar targets is important to reduce complications and diabetes progression. Avoiding sugar, limiting carbs, eating real food, intermittent fasting and metformin slow progress to diabetes and diabetes progression to the point that other oral medications or insulin are needed to increase insulin levels. Once insulin or sulfonylureas are required and low sugars are a problem, aggressive targets are no longer appropriate. Your thoughts?
