Hi, Bill. I had a very similar experience in the early 80s, only my small ICU in a 60-bed hospital was in Mission, Texas, near McAllen. Those were very exciting days when new medial and surgical treatments for heart disease were just becoming available, even in small hospitals in rural areas.
