Bill, Curious as to your thoughts about the role of remote patient monitoring devices to help manage adherence to OMT and also to create accountability that limits variation?

That is a great question. Eighty-five percent of care for patients with hypertension and diabetes can be managed remotely. The main reason these are leading reasons for a primary care office visit is that is what providers are paid for in a fee-for-service system. In value-based care, that is no longer necessary. Patients can stay on the job or at home and still get excellent care. Blood pressure measured at home is more accurate than pressure measured in the office. Glucose can be measured as well. The extra convenience and removal of the transportation barrier reduces variation.
