That is an interesting diagram. I would like to mention that AMPK is activated by exercise in the muscle and peripheric tissues, but it is inhibited in the brain, which is good. Because in the brain, AMPK stimulates orexigenic peptides and thus enhances food intake.

During intermittent fasting, should people take metformin if prescribed? Both are believed to be good to reduce visceral fat. What do you advise?

Agree for those already metabolically unfit/unhealthy (~88%). I’m also passionate about removing the insulting agents of sugar, refined carbs, processed foods and seed oils, and encouraging HIIT, scaled to the person. To me, Cure= removal of insulting agents. Healing is the process that takes time and May be improved with pharmaceutical and non pharmaceutical methods pending a patient’s desires.

A person with a bleeding artery in their left arm, can be treated with an IV and blood infusion in their right arm and see improvement of their Hgb, but the root problem has not been cured.
