Aldosterone in the upper right corner of the diagram activates the minerolocorticoid receptor to increase oxidant production and switch on mTOR while switching off AMPK. Like ADMA in yesterday’s post, aldosterone excess contributes to the development of high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease. Like metformin, eplerenone very precisely blocks these damaging effects on cells and organs. Don’t you agree we should systematically move to optimal medical treatment to reap the benefits of this new science?

Hi Dr, I came across this interesting study recently. Basically Policosanol appears very interesting. Lowers Aldosterone, Blood Glucose, Cholesterol etc and improves a bunch of metabolic factors.

A recent paper made the claim Metadichol, a commercial Policosanol formulation, increases Klotho --- a youth factor. Effects way beyond ARBs/ACE-I?
