A post about Women and Heart Disease in January 2022 generated an unexpected response. My neighbor Jean called and she said, "I think I may be one of those women." And indeed she was. She had repeated chest pain relieved by nitroglycerin and she had risk factors for heart disease. She has addressed her problem very effectively and is truly an inspiration.
Oops! I don't understand the severity scales. Jean's 10/21 has higher numbers for severity than the prior. But as you pointed out, there is no global, it is local. If course, I don't have a grasp enough of the meanings, although I think I get that the improvement has relieved her whole heart of the effects that now are more confined to the trouble spot.
I wish very badly this technology was being adopted - at least trialed - here in the Treasure Valley area of Idaho. It is so badly needed, along with the enlightened support and treatment arm. We have some new cardiologists at long last and they are taking patients. The cardiologist practices were overwhelmed and had to ruthlessly triage patients. The resultant patching up and not maxing intervention and especially follow on has poorer, lower quality outcomes. So many people have moved here the past 25 years and now 10-12k a month, so resources were stretched.
The empirically derived severity scores, rating from 0 to 22, quantify the overall functional physiological status of the entire system at the time of the testing. She remains essentially at the same level the second time around, however, for her long term chronic conditions combining metabolic and hypertensive heart disease, in addition to the chronic exposure to high stress, it is a stubborn condiction to manage. The good news is that she has managed to stop the worsening of the overall functions and improved her ischemic state from the global (the entire heart) to local (limited to a region) and plus she is much more physically able to move around without chest pains. That's a promising sign: Of course, more work is required to optimize her lifestyle, perhaps switching on her OMT regiments (Bill ?), to stop the disease progression and eventually reverse her disease altogether. She has good chance of recovering from this. MCG can measure the functional recovery objectively and quantitatively to periodically asses her status.
Please contact me for further discussions about getting Treasure Valley Idaho to start adopting our technology. I welcome your input:
Thank you. I have written your information down. I see one of my docs the 10th and another the 11th. Will trial balloon with those, proceed from there. I'm writing a cardiologist of a friend's, too.
Her functional deterioration could have progressed for the worse, much worse, without the knowledge from her initial MCG testing and her determination to reverse her disease! The follow up test is reassuring, indeed! Thank you, Bill!

I am sure Dr Shen would love to work with you to bring this technology to your area

That is great
Hi Doc,
Please feel free to use this guide on how to interpret the MCG reports:

Yep! Thank you!

Yup! Let’s continue the efforts to further optimize her lifestyle and keep the momentum on disease reversal!
